Low FPS on high end PC
When I got this PC I had hoped for at least stable 60 fps. I've got around 40 unfortunately on singleplayer and around 30 in multiplayer. I've unparked my cores but for nothing.
I've got a Geforce GTX 1080 and as an CPU i7-6700k.
I should be able to run all of them on high.

Going to need to know how much RAM!
Going to need to know what start-up parameters you're using.

Go here!
C:\Users\YOURUSER\Documents\Arma 3
Arma3.cfg open with notepad.

Look for and set it to this.

GPU_MaxFramesAhead=1;
GPU_DetectedFramesAhead=1;

Also go into Arma 3 Controls.
At the top tab... select mouse.
Remove the smoothing.

I have 16 gb of ram and I also don't use start-up parameters. I also did what you said but my fps didn't rise.

-high -cpuCount=4 -exThreads=7 -maxMem=10240 -maxVram=???? -noBenchmark -noLogs -noSplash -world=empty -skipIntro

You'll need to change -maxVram=MB so 1 GB = 1024mb

In steam right click Arma 3
click properties
Then look for a button called “SETUP LAUNCH OPTIONS”

copy and past the above there and see if that helps.

You need to keep RAM back for your OS. So because you've got 16 I already set that to 10 leaving the 6GB for the OS

I've done that. Now I have around 60 fps in the field, while in the city around 35-40. Problem is most of the fighting is in the city so I usually just die. Do you have any ideas about what can I do?

If you don't have SSD then you're going to have loadings issues. As the general rule of thumb with PC's is that it works as fast as the slowest component.

If you're experiencing lag spikes when you're being shot at from a close proximity the solution for that would be to lower your sound quality in windows.

If you're experience lag spike when zooming in. That's always going to happen until you get an SSD drive. However with that being said. You can mitigate that by editing your right click control and removing the temporary zoom from your key binds and use a manual feature instead.

i7-6700 K intel is good if you have like a msi motherboard. You can automatically OC your CPU up to 4,5 GHZ. Atleast thats what it says at MSI command center. I have i5 6600K overclocked my ram automatically and did the overclocking process manually or else i couldnt over clock my ram automatically. Im running it now on 4,3 GHZ and get 50-60 fps online doesnt go lower than 40. Do note you gotta have like a big CPU cooler to OC. If you have MSI command center and a MSI motherboard the only thing you have to do for it to OC automatically is press Gaming mode: ON Than try to run arma 3 you'll defenitely see a huge improvement. And don't be scared to overclock cause you bought the K version. That means its made for overclocking.

What are you playing when getting less than 60fps in citys and towns?

This^ if you maxed out that slider when doing graphics options it will kill any PC, set it to something like 2000 and see what happens then. I think max is like 10,000 which is only really usefull for flying jets :)

I have an SSD. That's where my system is.
