Well you've described a problem with interior sound effects. I'm not sure with Arma's emulation of interior sound. I don't know for sure if its an effect or a different sound as I've never really had this problem.

But if it was me getting these issues. I'd start by changing my windows sound settings first.

Right click on the windows sound icon situated on your task bar. Click Playback devices.

Change your sound setting to 16bit 44100Hz and apply.

Load arma and see if there is a difference.

If it's already set on these setting try changing it to a higher setting.

Wishing you the best of luck!

Are you using on-board sound?

make sure your auido drivers are up to date. also in sound properties, right click your default playback device. go to properties/advanced and make sure to uncheck "Allow applications to take exclusve control".

try go into windows sound settings for device.
maybe try without effects.

or maybe lower bitrate or hz at advanced setting
like a default 16 bit 48000hz
or maybe it likes a higher bit , like 24 bit 48000hz.

maybe install the right version USB headset driver for windows .
or if soundcard or onboard , then those drivers.

maybe soundcard needs a firmware update, or previous one.
my new firmware rekt the USB 2.0 support.
i needed to go back to older firmware for it to work on all USB 2.0/3.0 ports.

update chipset driver motherboard maybe for O.S.
get from motherboard manufacturer.

maybe reinstall graphics video adapter driver and their sound drivers.

maybe try with and without mic boost.
see if that is causing issues.

maybe some auto volume settings in windows sound settings or soundcard menu.

try use volume slider in windows , not some mechanical button.
maybe a volume button is crackling.

game crashed??
then maybe driver/firmware version.
or USB cable/connector broken.

try different USB ports or cables if using extensions.

edit
third party game software.
like directX updates

steam , game properties , local files , commonredist folder, directx
and visuals.

swapped the sound channels from 8 to 6/4/2 (sound-card software) and fixed the freezes + sound flickering

I have the same issue all of a sudden. Nothing has changed on my pc and I've not changed any sound perameters in ages but I now have crackles and heavy lag when in 1st person in vehicle/chopper Etc. Initially occured a few days ago and is always the same on every load up.

I am looking into the solution provided above by BAZING. I seem to think it is related to the last update and the switch from 32 bit to 64 bit. I'm guessing Bohemia will try and fix this in a future update, but I think we need to make sure it is captured on their website. Will update to this post when I narrow down what might work and what might be the cause.

Just out of curiosity, how many of you are using Logitech G930 headsets?
