I found a solution, i tried everything like reinstalling Arma and removing every Workshop mods, but the real problem is from your nvidia drviers
I've restarted to the start my computer so my driver was near the first ones, i updated them and now my Arma doesn't show the error message like you and it's running right now, hope I helped

@NOOT NOOT would you mind explaining that process in a bit more detail? This error is really doing my head in ...

Unknown Software Exception 0Xc06d007e and other critical errors can occur when your Windows operating system becomes corrupted. Opening programs will be slower and response times will lag. When you have multiple applications running, you may experience crashes and freezes. There can be numerous causes of this error including excessive startup entries, registry errors, hardware/RAM decline, fragmented files, unnecessary or redundant program installations and so on.

Clean your computers first... If that doesn't work you might want to think about repairing windows.

I'm being direct here.

Nothing is wrong with my OS
Yet you're getting "0Xc06d007e" which is an OS critical error.

every other application both 64 and 32 bit run perfectly fine
This is not a good comparison due to Arma 3 using resources like no other application.

Must be a mistake in their end.
Or It must be a problem between the chair and keyboard.

I've not had this error because when the patch came out... I didn't have enough room on my SSD. Steam doesn't want to play nicely about that issue So I deleted everything and downloaded the update version.

Saying that I can download at around 27mbs on steam. So a reinstall doesn't take long for me.

The Exception Unknown Software Exception 0xc06d007e error may be caused by windows system files damage.
Random forum guy!

The solution is a system restore!

Might be update, because Arma was running fine until latest update hit. No sign of system damage. Did fresh installs and purged profiles.

Guess we'll have to wait...

Look man! The common denomination of this hexadecimal code (0xc06d007e) from Windows 7 up to Windows 10 is that there is some sort of corruption in your OS. I've read loads because of your post. If you can say for sure that the OS is working. Then we need to investigate hardware and drivers.

I'm running Windows 10 64bit on a I7 4ghz. I have 16GB RAM I'm using a GTX7604GB video card 120GB SSD and 2TB of HDD and a Strix 7.1 external sound card and I'm not getting this problem.

holy crap, took three days trying to fix this, turns out that it was a driver problem. Just needed to update.

At least I know several -possible- fixes to this problem
-verify integrity
-Admin cmd, type "sfc /runnow" and fix possible corruptions
-fresh reinstall of OS or game
-update drivers

These are all very basic fixes, so these might not work

Look at the evidence. You're getting a “Operating System Error”. I didn't create this error. Windows did! IF you'd of bothered to do the research you'd of understood it. I don't think your moaning is going to help.

A: It could be your drivers.
B: It could be your hardware.
C: It could be a problem between the chair and keyboard.

I'm speculating...

Unfortunately I'm done with your attitude. Enjoy the crashing because I've not got this problem and my advise has helped other people. I now think the problem is option option “C”.

Have a nice day.

"disagreed with your opinion"
Then google "0xc06d007e" and disagree with the thousands of topics out there.

OK lets try to skip the splash screen...
My location of the game
D:\Games\steamapps\common\Arma 3

Look for the Arma3.exe and try to start the game from that.

So I'm thinking we might of missed those supporting files.
https://arma3.com/requirements
Scroll down to the bottom and download and install!

Even if you have already.

Then repeat the arma3.exe
