Launch Parameters: CPU and game optimization guide
For those that don't know, here are useful launch parameters for running the game properly. Also, some other useful things.

Use this parameter to allocate more RAM to the gamae. Fixes some crashing
-maxMem=8192 (For anyone with 8GB OR MORE)
-maxMem=6144 (For 6GB users)
-maxMem=4096 (For 4GB users)
increments of 1024 per GB to a maximum of 8192
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU CORES: Intel and AMD (Set the amount of cores you want to use)
AMD users
-cpuCount=2
-cpuCount=4
-cpuCount=6
-cpuCount=8

Intel users:
For non-hyperthreaded CPUs: same as AMD

FOR HYPERTHREADED CPUS WITH 4 CORES: -cpuCount=8
FOR HYPERTHREADED CPUS WITH 6 CORES: -cpuCount=12
FOR HYPERTHREADED CPUS WITH 8 CORES: -cpuCount=16
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
VRAM (GPU mem allocation)
-maxVRAM=<number>
increments of 1024 per GB
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Starting your game faster:
-noSplash (Disables startup videos)
-world=empty (No world loaded at the main menu)
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
example: -noSplash -cpuCount=8 -maxMem=8192

THESE MAY HAVE TO BE ENTERED IN THE ARMA 3 LAUNCHER. NOT THROUGH STEAM LAUNCH OPTIONS. (SOMEONE CHECK FOR ME)

for hyperthreading, your should remove cpu count and just use -enableHT. Arma will auto detect your cpu cores, and then enable hyperthreading to use 8 threads. If you use 4 cores and enable HT, the cores will override the enableHT and you will not get 8 threads.

What about putting 8 cores in the cpu count when I have hyper threading in my quad core?
He said to put 8 if you have hyper threaded quad cores and enable HT. Who said to put 4 in the cpu count? he said 8 lol

i totally forgot i made this thread
hi

Its a good thread. Stands the test of time. I already do some of the memory maxmin etc and learned a few things about killing the worlds and splash. Seemed to me thats half the trouble waiting on the game to go through all that before playtime.

We used to do that in shooter games online to load and be moving before the rest of the pubs loaded in.

This might fix the crashes and freezes i am experiencing but now i'm running on a 7gb Ryzen/Radeon laptop (it could play HITMAN Trilogy well with all settings low) so until i get a new storage and memory stick i might've need to put off playing this for awhile.

I feel your pain. I have a CPU thats ok but will need replacing. I actually have one under its own block running faster that should drop into the current PC from the other thats being scrapped.

The video card is the relatively weak entry level one. RTX 3050 its done well but there is a monitor to get and other considerations for future ARMA 3 and 4 play. My current hardware is over a decade old and approaches two. Like the keyboard for instance. Its a original Logitech G15 and I bet if I hammer that on the side of table its going to come out with enough material to clone myself.
