If OFC you are only interested in the Life-alikes or DayZ-alike missions or straight PvP then no, teamspeak is not useful for the most part.
Teamspeak will always be the superior product
Discord still needs to catch up with Teamspeak for server options, quality, and client options. The only real advantage Discord has is that you can run it in a browser and the chat logging is far superior.
Otherwise, Teamspeak is much better for audio options for both server and client. More codec options, including those of higher quality than Discord, more control over client-to-client interaction, much more options for channel command structuring to allow users in multiple channels to hear users with command priviledges.
It's amazing what you can do with a platoon of players on a teamspeak, organized into squad channels, with a platoon leader able to address the platoon all at once for larger scale orders or discussing objectives, while squad leaders can also have direct channel access to the platoon leader only, allowing all figureheads to speak as needed, cutting out any chatter from squaddies.
Just as safe as Discord is to download and setup for.
But sadly as stated it doesnt have Mod support there for Task Force Radio and Acre wouldnt work on, but should they ever implement support for the programes, Discord will probably become the superior Service
also another thing for Discord... its rather fun to Drop the Bitrate and wait for the Audio Junkies to catch on and start freaking out haha
Until that happens, they have a looooot of catching up to do. TS3 is far superior for organizing audio communications with far more options, even without mods included, moreso when you do include mods and plugins.
I think its really good with all the channels and stuff. Is it just because of that radio mod that needs teamspeak?
Like for me and my buddies (up to 12 of us) we can be in 3 groups and find the ingame brilliant. Can just be chatting to our own squad then swap it up to everyone if we need to coordinate. Sometimes we say side channel is only for the 3 leaders and the rest stay in there group channel. So we sort of have a command and 3 squad channels, i find it really good :)
