How to put the scope on the rifle?

I'm already lost on the first training mission. You're asked to drag and drop a scope onto your rifle but I can't figure that out. The crate nearby doesn't seem to have a scope and the inventory menu is confusing. I'm going to need tutorial videos just to get through the training I see... :-/

Approach the crate. It should have a rifle with two arrows around it, or something like a rifle with 3 lines under it. Then press I. You should see the crate has some ammo and something called a RCO.

Hold left-click on the RCO, and drag it to the white spot on your gun.

1) Open your inventory (i)
**your inventory menu shows your pack, helment, chest rig, weapon, radio, etc., that you have equipped on the right hand menu. Left hand menu shows what is in each pack that you select to open.
2)Then open your backpack, uniform, or chest rig (right hand menu, double click the backpack, chest rig or uniform icon at the top of the right hand menu - left hand menu shows what is inside the selected object/pack, look for the scope).
3)Once you find the scope in one of your packs on the left hand menu, drag it to the highlighted weapon slot on the right hand side menu.

You do the same thing to equipe a helmet or any other gear. This assums you have gear in your pack. If armoury, then open the armoury and drag/drop gear to the slots on the right hand menu.

PS: Yes, you need to watch some vids. Arma get's much more complicated from there. Play the campaign that comes with Arma. It teaches the basic key presses, and how to function in the game.

I tried that, maybe I didn't drag it to the scope spot on the gun. I'll try again...

Having the same issue so annoying!! I am unable to make it stick to the rifle. I left click and drag it to the gun... everything goes RED and nothing attaches... like the moment I left click and drag it, everything becomes red. Any ideas anyone?

Som missions can block that ,,, do the test in virtual arsenal whit that weapon and scope.

You need to first move a gun sight out of its current position into storage elsewhere (like your body armor), THEN you can drag and drop your new scope onto the long gun.
I too struggled with this....WTF? I was dragging and dropping and nothing was happening.... then I 'got it'

I managed to get a scope onto the rifle ( seems to sit below normal sights) but don't know how to switch to it. At the moment I just see a side view with a plus sign where it's aiming.

thanks. I've been on xbox one for the last few years. I'm wondering if some sort of Steam controller might work better than keyboard and mouse. I'm also playing Flight Simulator X which would probably be better with some kind of joystick.

I just got stuck on the same thing.

My mistake. Instead of Drag&Drop, I right-clicked the scope... and that seemed to automatically move it to the rifle. And back and forth. Tried this for such a long time.

But wait, actually no. While right click moves things to a free rifle slot. If not free then it just stuffs it elsewhere, like into your vest pockets. And that happens because there's already another scope on the thing so the slot is not free.

And then the scope is "gone", not in the crate, not on the rifle, and you have to realize on your own to check other item pockets and lo and behold, there it is hiding from yous.

When moving items to inventory, select where you want them to go. If your backpack is selected it goes there, but when full it will go to the first in the list which is the uniform I believe.
