If that's the case they're probably Sunshine cards or not Koikatsu cards. Otherwise they're not in the right folder, but that doesn't seem to be the issue if I read that right.

Did you get those cards from pixiv? If so, they might have the "master_1200" at the end of the filename. Those don't work. To properly download cards on pixiv, you have to go fullscreen (100%) on the card picture and THEN download it.

Could you try that and let me know if it works?

I downloaded the cards on different pages checking that they are from Koikatsu, and I put them in the character folder (as I saw in tutorials) but they don't appear in the game, nor in the character creation.

I just tried your method, but the result is the same, I add the cards to the "female" folder and they are not seen in the game (I restart the game after adding the cards)

Go into the female character creation and save the default character (or make whatever changes to her you want first).

Save New. Take the student ID and character card images and confirm the save.

Locate the card that saved on your PC and verify that is the folder you are putting your downloaded cards.

Drag and drop the downloaded card into the creator, if its load, save as a new chara, if not, you will get some error messages about the cards.

try extracting the file in the game directory, thats what I did.

to clarify, you download the file, thats a given, so what I did was drag and drop the file to KKP's main directory and extracted there. the character cards then moved to thier respected files.

Which file are you referring to? I download the cards as images.

If you mean dragging the cards from the folder to the create character option, it doesn't work, the mouse cursor appears with a lock symbol.

I tested the first bepis one, and the card definitely works and loads just fine. I didn't save as image, I just clicked the download button on the page.

Probably a different location by default on the Steam version.

Seems like you're not doing anything wrong... but if it successfully saves a card you made to the folder and you can successfully load that card from where it saved, it should be able to load any other compatible cards placed in that same folder. You don't even need to close the game, it auto refreshes anytime you move files in or out of the folder instantly.

Edit:

I drew a leftward red arrow pointing to the folder selector as well, just in case you didn't notice that you can navigate folders within "female" folder in case that might be the issue.

About that thing you point to with the red arrow, it doesn't appear to me as you can see, I show you the full screen to verify it.

I also don't know if it's relevant, but the order of the folders I have are:

SteamLibrary - SteamApps - Common - KoikatsuParty - UserData - Chara - Female

And as I mentioned before, the characters I create in the same game are saved there :(((
