"No files to handle"
Getting this notification whenever I try importing a card into studio. Is it broken or am I missing something, or am I just incompetent? (they also don't show up in normal koikatsu, or when i try dropping in a character. this noti appears when i drag and drop from file explorer)

That means there are no Koikatsu files - no KK metadata - to handle. Depending on the source of the card, it may actually have no metadata at all. Other reasons could be that only the card's image was saved instead of the .png it self (image+metadata). Or it's a card for KK Sunshine - which would require some sort of mod to enable cross use between KK/KKS, if there's such a thing. Example: On the bepis site KK & KKS cards are often mixed, and previously, the cards didn't have a GameType identifier until later, which would make downloading and using cards for the wrong game type result in having "no files to handle".
With that said, in short, it's either wrong gametype, or it's missing/has no data.

hmmm. possibly the bepis cards are KKS, but i did find some on pixiv that doesn't work. i have a subfolder of about 10 cards, and only 1 appears in the character creator

update: i was just an idiot. i dragged and dropped the bepis files, which were _thumb files, and not the cards.

In what's quoted, it wasn't specified which part is being mentioned in your questions, but if you meant:

The answer from me is, I don't know. I don't have KKS, I've only read bits here and there to know someone may have a mod for cross-gametype card compatibility. Which is why I stated ... if there's such a thing. You might have to ask someone else with more knowledge about it in a separate post.
Otherwise, I'm going to assume you already know about the HF patch, that can handle drag & drop cards, and can notify of some data, relative to post #1.
