Overall I get the feeling that the engine is probably better. Aka why the major mods are starting to head over there, but quite a few need a separate version so there must be some programming changes. I also think the lighting and shadow system is a bit different. BUT like before it's based on where the camera is and not a source from the stage itself.
So in short it's basically a new more advanced version of this but it's not to much of a big deal... Also note the cards from it are NOT backwards compatible. and sometimes converting old cards to it can result in some weird things... so editing might be needed or have to be redone entirely in some cases.
Sunshine has significanly more animations, new gameplay loop and new locations.
So it'll surely be a breath of fresh air.
Ok wow this post is old but when you say "Also note the cards from it are NOT backwards compatible" do you mean Koikatsu Sunshine to Koikatsu Party, or the reverse (Aka Party to Sunshine)
