Black screen problems

Sometimes, but not always, I get an infinite black screen with music after having lunch with a girl. Has anyone else had a similar issue? Anyone have an idea what's causing it?

I'm using HF Patch and Kplug, but I believe this issue also occurred when I was just running HF Patch.

Maybe you are running out of RAM because you've aded too much girls, try monitoring your system's ram with task manager or something like this while playing.

Also try updating your gpu drivers

Well, I updated my drivers and am keeping an eye on the task manager. I've gotten through lunch break once fine so far now. Hopefully things continue that way. The game only seems to be using ~4 of my 16 GB of RAM though, so I'll be truly surprised if that's the actual issue.

1. Reinstall the HF Patch. Start the game without kplug. See if you get a black screen.
2. Install kplug. See if it's still wortking.

I'll give this a try if I still get a black screen. Though I was hoping to avoid having to do a reinstall.

So it looks to be a memory issue. The output log Loops "[Illusion Fixes] Skipping cleanup because of low memory load." It's doing this when trying to load after I've done something with any of the girls while I'm at 50% or more RAM usage.

I guess 20 girls is too much for 16 GB of RAM when using modded girls. I even had one class be entirely default girls, anticipating this to a degree, but that hardly helps if the game's RNG decides that most of the girls that show up to school that day will be the modded ones.

Well, I just bought 32 GB of RAM upgrade. Never did I imagine that it would be a porn game that would push my build to its limits. What a fascinating time we live in.

But at least you noticed that the "low memory load" text looped so many times, though it was not the one you should looking for. Nice try! :-)

I assumed it was a memory issue since it kept looping this in the log. After the black screen, it was the only thing the log was recording.

I'm trying to recreate the black screen again but it really is a pain. doing just a class of 20 modded girls kicked my memory usage over 50% easy, but didn't black screen. going for class setups that I think will trigger it seems to be counterproductive.

I'll just start a new game and try to play naturally from there.

I'm not having any issues with a teacher scene. At least, I've yet to get a black screen from one. It's after having lunch with or studying with a girl that I've gotten a black screen and music.

Well, Took a while, but I finally got another black screen. Only issue is that pastebin has deemed the log too lewd and forced privated it (wouldn't even allow it as unlisted.) Any alternative site that won't do the same?

Try backing up "Koikatsu Party\UserData" folder and reinstaling everything then.

While you are doing that, I just thought of something. There is a second bug I've been experiencing that may be related. It has also been around since before I started using Kplug. Some of the modded girls' groin would stretch/enlarge in ridiculously noticeable ways. Over the course of testing for black screens, I noticed that the enlarging often got worse the more scene transitions I went through (ones after spending time with girls, not map area transitions.)

No idea if these two issues are actually related. I was going to initially bring this up after the black screen issue was dealt with, but it's worth mentioning now.

Should not be a big problem. Just wanted to mention it. Nevermind. You could remove LewdCrest to make sure it's not that plugin making problems.

Also your UncensorSelector is out of date. https://github.com/IllusionMods/KK_Plugins
Same with Better Penetration.

So update the mods with the KKManager.
But you have to update plugins manually (KK_SkinEffects, UncensorSelector, Better Penetration).

I'll try removing LewdCrest. I use Kplug's uncensor. UncensorSelector has been entirely removed, as per the instructions in Kplug's manual. BetterPenetration is still around since the manual said nothing about it.

This game can sometimes damage it's files for some reason.

Happened several times to me.

So, after playing 2 school days, I have yet to encounter the black screen or the groin streching/enlarging. They were probably related issues.

I can't really say what exactly fixed it, but I'll run through everything that changed. I did a full uninstall of the entire game and patches, installed HF Patch 3.14 (I previously used 3.13) and Kplug 2.9, disabled LewdCrestX, and Disabled BetterPenetration. I have also upgraded my RAM.
