tips for card load issues

so wandering about online I've run across several character and even coordinate cards that either don't load right or are missing elements regardless of the thumbnails. the most recent example for an improper load is this card here https://db.bepis.io/koikatsu/view/230913
as for a coordinate card some of them have been so often that I don't either bother trying to fix them or take a lot of time fixing. does anyone have any tips or suggestions ?

1. You need to have HF patch installed for using these cards (as they rely on sideloader mods heavily)

Just google "koikatsu hf ptch github" to get it, it's free and safe.



2. Ensure you save original .png images when saving cards, not thumbnails or rescaled versions.

For this left-click (or open in new tab) cards you want to download before saving them.


After saving put them to "Koikatsu Party\UserData\chara\female".


To check whether .png file contains character information open it with notepad, press ctrl+F and search for "koika" (or "sex") string without quotation marks.

If string is found, your card contains character data and should load fine.

I have all that but the issue is that some things aren't loading right, for example the card that I linked the accessory parts that make up the characters bangs don't load in the right position or size, also some other cards I have downloaded accessory pieces either load incorrectly or at a ridiculous scale sometimes even dwarfing the character model

Hmmm, possibly something is wrong with your bepinex mods (maybe they are outdated or something).

Have you installed the latest version of hf patch (3.14)?

The card you've linked loaded fine for me (I still use hf patch 3.11 though).

not sure I think I have it but I've had lousy luck finding the right download for it

ok so I looked at the version I'm running it says it's 3.10 and when I go to download it it says the that it's version is v0.18.0 which I already have do I have to have it in a specific folder or something cause I just have the v0.18.0 folder sitting in the games main folder

0.18 is the kkmanager's version (software which downloads updates for sideloader mods).

You need to install HF patch itself - it includes bepinex mods as well (which are the culprit in your case).

Just google "HF Patch v3.15 for Koikatu github".

The free link is at the very beginning of the page.

Don't forget installing hotfix after installing HF patch 3.15 itself.

To do so open game launcher, click on update, and install the HF Patch hotfix.

unfortunately for me it looks like the download link is behind a paywall on patreon, and frankly I don't have the financial stability to just throw money around even if it's five dollars

ok so this is weird I got version 3.15 installed but whenever I start up the game through steam it still loads version 3.10 am I missing something here?

Anyway launcher takes the version number from "Koikatsu Party\version" file.

Were the bugs you've mentioned before fixed by this btw?

ok it's working right now but the cards that I've had loading issues with still load in a funky way

so I'm still running into loading issues with some character and coordinate cards, as far as I know I'm running the latest mod version but some cards still aren't loading right. is there anyone with any advice?

Some mods are still missing then (you should be notified about that into upper right corner when model / coordinate finishes loading).

I do get that with some cards others I don't, the only other notice I see is "slot 1 is set as secondary" using the card linked in my original post the bangs don't load right and I get no mod missing notice and I'm still learning the character builder so I'm not sure how to fix it
