About the game: Special Patch? HF Patch? Sunshine? Why so many things in one game?

(English is not my first language) So i just found this game and i've seen people talking alot of patches of this game and i wonder what's all about that:

-Is Special the cut content of steam version?
-Why people keep recommend the HF Patch what's that? Is that a mod? Why everyone seem to like it more than the special patch?
-What is Sunshine? Dlc or a patch or a diffrent game?
-When i watched some youtube videos about this and i see some videos like how to trigger Darkness in this game what is it?

Koikatsu Party is the western version (=official english translation) of the japanese game Koikatu. Koikatsu Party is censored (no Story mode) but with the official Special Patch you get the content back.

HF Patch is a big mod pack with dozens of (user made) mods and plugins, several GB big. Easy to download and install.
The Special Patch is just an official Patch which gives back the story mode.
The HF Patch also includes the Special Patch.

Sunshine is a new game by Illusion.

Darkness was a preorder thing and adds a MMF rape scene. It's only available in Koikatu. There is no way to get that in Koikatsu Party.

1. Yes, Special patch adds back cut content (story mode). Devs had to cut it out in order to be able to sell the game here.

2. HF patch contains Special patch + about 1800 additional mods which add more possibilities, proper male and female genitalia, optimizations for the game, thousands of new clothes / hair / etc and so on.

It also allows you to use thousands of character cards you can download from internet sites.

3. Koikatsu sunshine is standalone game. It was released just several days ago and don't have Steam version for now.

4. Darkness dlc don't work with Steam version of the game. It adds several male + male + female sex animations in [surprise sex] context.
