downloading characters

I have downloaded a couple of characters online yesterday. placed them in the char / female file however only some of them show up . only the first ones downloaded show up and i cant use the other ones even after deleting on of them
Any help will be greatly appreciated because im stuck

Edit: For some reason steam isnt letting me delete this however the problem has been solved thanks to everyone who helped

Make sure you download original images, not thumbnails.

For this you usally left-clisk on the picture or open it in new tab first.

After this right-click the picture and choose "Save picture as..."

After saving put them to "Koikatsu Party\UserData\chara\female".


To check whether .png file contains character information open it with notepad, press ctrl+F and search for "koika" (or "sex") string without quotation marks.

If string is found, your card contains character data and should load fine.

It has all the strings mentioned but won't let me load. I compared it to the official ones and its almost the same except that it doesn't have that frame, just a picture of a character in a colored background.

My other searches is that it has something to do with mods? Is this true?

I clicked on the download button at the left side of the Like button since right clicking the image is downloading the thumbnail.

doesn't work, maybe it has something to do with outdated client/unofficial client

I guess you are using vanilla game with no mods installed? Such bug can happen there.

Try installing HF patch. (Scroll down to "Download and install HF Patch" part).

So if I want to download X character then that means I have to download all the mods as possible? How will I even know what character data needs what? I have no problems with the mods but finding what mod is what is just going to take a really while..

Yes. So if you were assuming I have mods then how can one figure out where to get what upon buying the game for the first time? Its not like it has a Steam Workshop or something?

I really have to use the manual way of searching? there's no mod showcase or something?

It's a hassle to search and download them separately for each card, as there are hundreds of them (HF patch is basically a collection of hundreds of mods + stuff).

So if you want to use cards from the sites or discord, having HF patch is practically mandatory (or else characters will have missing clothes, etc).

The patch is free anyway.
