game starts but has a black screen

I just got the game and when I start it I hear the music and have my mouse cursor
but I have a black screen and I cant do anything..

Exactly the same issue. Any solutions? I have the most recent Nvidia drivers, DirectX 12 and my computer definitely has the specs to handle the game.

Try rebooting your pc for starters.

If this won't help:

1. Install updated special patch from here:

2. After this - install / reinstall latest HF patch

Yo what about non steam version. I just can't install the HF patch cuz the installer can't see steam files

HF patch works fine on both. Show the path to the game's folder when installer asks you to (if it fails to locate one on it's own).

Btw installing updating story patch separately is not necessary - HF patch contains it as well now.

how to get dlcs without paying and how to install HF patch cause it saying koikatsu or koikatsu party files are not found

Dlcs are optional, you can freely install hf patch without them.

Show the installer the path where your "Koikatsu Party.exe" (or something like this) is located.

Yeah played it windowed and Nvidia drivers are up do date

I found one solution, it can be an Unity-related issue - if you look output_log.txt in the main game folder and you find this:
IndexOutOfRangeException: Array index is out of range.
at UnityEngine.Display.RecreateDisplayList (System.IntPtr[] nativeDisplay) [0x00000] in <filename unknown>:0
then:
1. Go to Nvidia Control Panel, then click on Adjust desktop size and position page, change "Aspect ratio" to "No Scaling".
2. Go to Intel Graphic Control Panel, then change 'scaling' options to "Maintain Aspect Ratio".
it solved the problem for me.
