Game will not load - have reinstalled etc
Hi all,

I have never been able to start this game since installing it. I have tried the vanilla Steam version, installed the patch, installed the "other" patch. Each time, the game fails to start and it puts an error log in my game folder.
Graphics drivers are up to date, i7 6700K and GTX1080. 32mGB RAM.
Help please!

Try disabling antivirus / firewall software before starting the game.

Try starting the game in windowed mode with launcher.

Btw, try reading the log (if it can be opened as text) or post it somewhere for us to read.

Something won't let the game reading from ram.

If you have not installed any antivirus software, you must have windows defender installed by default.

Try disabling it. Try running the game's exe file as administrator.

If this won't help - try checking your system for viruses.

It's possible it might also be a conflict with a ram booster or ram disk program.

I have disabled Windows Defender and run the program as admin. I don't have a ram booster or ram disk program.
I'm starting to run out of ideas here!

Try checking your system for viruses.

Maybe something is wrong with your os.

Have you expirienced similar problems while running other games, or this one is the only you are experiencing troubles with?

Btw what operating system are you using?

Thanks for the help people, but I'm still no closer to a solution. I'm on Win10, fully patched/updated. I have no issues with the dozens of other programs I have tried. I did a clean install of Win10 since I installed the game to no avail.
Win defender shows no viruses.

It's becomes more and more interesting.

Try installing Vkatsu (it's basically free demo of Koikatsu with character editor only) and check whether this one gonna run on your system.

Just for testing.

Okay, just a small aside about mentioning a ramdisk conflict. Another game I play kept shutting down because of insufficient ram. I was thinking wut de hell and checked system, said 20 gigs of my ram was being utilized and wasn't running anything. Finally remembered I've had a ramdisk running forever and shut it down. No problems with memory afterwards. So I thought I'd run THIS game. THIS game is, right now, eating up 13 gigs, so there's always a possibility it's something you just don't think about running on your system.

Hey all, I installed and tried to run VKatsu - exactly the same issue...
Jehuty Mar 14, 2020 @ 11:03pm
This is becoming more and more interesting.

It's possible that there is a conflict with some other software you are using (not antivirus obviously).

Try closing as much other software's running proccesses as you can (only the ones you know are belonging to some side software) or try disabling them from autostarting and see if it helps.

Especially if you have Citrix Receiver or Citrix Workspace installed.

OK, I've closed everything that windows will allow me to close. Still crashes!

Just for the heck of it, run dxdiag and see if it says you're missing anything.
Jimmy6 Mar 15, 2020 @ 3:30am
Just tried that, all good there.

Okay, starting to reach now. Have you checked to see if your BIOS is up to date?
