Steam Controller does not work with Bastion on Mac OSX El Capitan

I have used my steam controller with other steam games on my mac and they work fine. But I have had issues getting the steam controller to work with Bastion on my Mac.

I managed to get it to work by removing my Desktop configuration, and replacing it with a setup for a regular gamepad. As far as I could undestand, steam just used my desktop configuration instead of switching things properly. If you can use the A button in the menu, but not much else this may work for you.

PS. I do not have the steam controller anymore, was borrowed for a few days from a friend.

I'm having the same issues. I purchased a Steam Controller strictly to play with Bastion. I tried your suggestions @Laserbeam but still get no response from my Steam Controller. Any other ideas?
