There are two main APIs for controllers: XInput and DirectInput.
- DirectInput: Used for almost all controllers. Has been around for a while.
- XInput: Created by Microsoft in 2006 for the Xbox 360 controller with PC games. It offers a number of extra features and input types over DirectInput.
Bastion can only recognize XInput. If you want to use something other than an Xbox 360 controller, you would use a XInput emulator. This converts a DirectInput signal to an XInput signal. Here is a controller emulator you can use: https://code.google.com/p/x360ce/
Also is there a community map for the controller that I can apply through Steam available?
PLEASE no PC "Master Race" BS, lets all get along :)
Macs aren't gamer friendly. Never have been.
