Who Knows Where Question

I recently started playing Bastion and unlocked the smoking pipe. I played Who Knows Where and got some experience and fragments from the big blue orbs. However, when I ran out of chances and died returning to the Bastion, I didn't get any of the experience or fragments. Do I have to complete all 20 levels to get the fragments and experience? Is there a way to just get the experience and fragments accrued?

Normally, you get all the xp and fragments. Are you sure you lost them? :/

I'm not sure, but if you die in the You Know Where, you don't get any fragments and experience points. You must success.

Once you've successed it, I think (not sure again, sorry) you can do it again and again…

Yep, it's one of the levels you can farm max level, granted you don't lose all your lives, ofc.
