I wouldn't get your hopes on this issue. From what I understand, if the game handed off controller support to SDL then virtually every controller would work.
And I mean, if this game works with the same controller in Ubuntu, then...
I use linux, so x360ce is essentially useless for me (thanks for the suggestion though). However, if they intend for this game to "feature" on the steam box I suspect they will eventually upgrade to SDL 2. unless they add code specific to the steam controller.
DS4 tool is what you need. Seamless, perfect Dualshock 4 to X360 emulation, rumble and light bar support, and you can even use the touchpad as a mouse. It works perfectly with every game. I just tried it with Bastion as well, if you need that explicit confirmation that it works. You can connect the controller through Bluetooth or USB. Download here. http://forums.pcsx2.net/Thread-DS4-To-XInput-Wrapper
u'll be able to play wired or wirelessly any game u want using your dualshock 4
but u'll have to make custom mapping for every single game on your own (make presset for a game, than just select the presset and run the game)
Worked pretty well, was just getting used to the controls (not having played the game before) – then… why is he only attacking in one direction? This keeps happening… maybe it’s part of the game?
Wait. What was that thing I saw earlier? Was it a mouse cursor?
…
Oh.
He’s attacking in the direction the mouse cursor is, relative to him.
There’s nothing Joystick Mapper can do to solve this. It’s either got to be DS4 support for Bastion from the devs (unlikely), or some sort of middleware app that fakes the existence of, and remaps, a Bastion supported controller on OSX.
Which is pretty much what the rather awesome Input Mapper does on Windows… how does this not exist on OSX yet?
Going to keep hunting, but don’t like my chances.
