Squirt and Bird Died! TT n TT

My squirt and baby bird died! I'm so upset! I could've saved them, but I wasn't quick enough! I didn't know they'd die! I'm so sad! :'( I don't even know if there's a way to bring them back or if they're dead forever...
(I wrote bird because if I put it's actual name, it shows it as pecker.)

It happened when I was trying to fend off the Ura hunters in the Bastion. All the friendly creatures were helping fighting them off, but apparently if you're not quick enough, they can die...

It's also weird how steam doesn't let you type the bird's name.

In New Game + you are more powerfull and able to save them all ;-)

Same happened in my game, so I started a new game right after that scene. I never accept imperfect game results cuz that makes me feel like I am a loser and I fail the game.
