Soundtrack Disappeared

I am no longer able to find the soundtrack in any local files. I have reinstalled the game, and neither Steam/steamapps/music (where the Pyre and Hades soundtracks live, among others) nor Steam/steamapps/common/Bastion contain it anywhere. Attempting to browse local files from the soundtrack's Library page gets me nothing at all.

Go into your steam library and make sure you downloaded the Soundtrack itself, not just the game, then it should be in Steam/steamapps/music.

I have done so. Not only are the files not present, but even the Steam Library page won't play them. Trying to play any song or browse local files gets me no reaction whatsoever.

To be perfectly clear - I'm not also getting a "download" option. The Library page is set up to play files I already have, not offering to let me install them. I haven't made any changes to Bastion since the last time I know I listened to the soundtrack.

No they are not, the official Soundtrack DLC should show up in the ..\Steam\steamapps\music\Bastion Soundtrack DLC folder. You have to go to the Bastion Page in your Steam Library and click on the Soundtrack in the "additional content" section there you will find a Download button it's pretty big, you can't miss it.

Why would I download them twice?

Bastion includes an hour of original music composed and created by our audio director, Darren Korb. Darren started making music for Bastion relatively early in development as we were working to define the exact tone we wanted to strike with the game. As we started talking about a fantasy frontier world, Darren came up with a musical style he calls "acoustic frontier trip-hop", which struck the balance we were looking for. You'll hear this musical style all throughout the game

After a while

There's three things I'll always miss, though.

Y'all, I understand the tech support urge to make sure I've crossed every T and dotted every I, no matter how simple. I'm telling you, I have done all of it, and it simply doesn't respond. Go to the Store page and click Play Now? A dialog box briefly appears, vanishes, and nothing happens. Click Play Album in the soundtrack Library page? No response. Comb through every file in Steam/steamapps/music and Steam/steamapps/common/Bastion? Nothing there. Meanwhile, other Supergiant games with music saved in the same format are working perfectly well. This is an issue I was hoping to get developer attention on, because I guarantee you it's not user error.

In your games library, make sure its showing games and soundtracks and not just games. Hope this helps.
