Still I don't get the reason to promote store that calls community forums and review system "toxic".
Wow I hadn't even seen that yet, but found the article (https://www.kotaku.com.au/2018/12/the-guy-behind-steam-spy-has-been-working-on-epics-store-for-years/). I get it that the community forums sometimes get a bit heated, not everyone is always civilized, but I had plenty of good discussions here. I get it why they'd want to get rid of the review system though, its something that gives a great deal of power to the community after all and the whole point of the Epic store appears to be to cater to the developers. I'm amused by the idea “That’s why we won’t have forums on Epic Games store and will start with a ticketing system, so gamers can message devs about their problems instead of review-bombing them” Thats a really lame excuse, then devs get thousands of tickets in a worst case scenario, how are they supposed to handle that. Isn't reviews literally the same in terms of expressing what one likes or doesn't like about the game. Just with reviews its publically and permanent, there is a visible consequence of ignoring the customers, whereas in this proposed system, the devs can ignore the complaints of the players, after they got their money
It's a child hates parents type of issue.
All the other timed exclusive game on Epic store is 12 months before they are allowed on another store, of the ones I have researched so far.
"We’ve never launched a game into Early Access before, and our players have come to expect complete, self-contained games from us ever since Bastion’s debut in 2011. With Hades, we knew we really wanted to create a game we could develop in partnership with the community, and from talking to the folks at Epic, we realized their store would be the perfect place to conduct our latest experiment.
Our focus during Early Access will be on making Hades the best game possible. If you’re the sort of player who’s open to and interested in experiencing a game like ours take shape over time, you’ll be able to take part in its journey on the Epic Games store. If you’d prefer to wait until the game is 100% complete, we expect Hades will eventually be available on a variety of platforms, once Early Access is complete".

Best luck to the ppl making this beautiful game!
I found it so odd that they weren't going to have forums because I don't look at forums as a medium to contact developers. It's a medium to chat with other players about the game. If the developers see things that are bugs on forums, then great. But sometimes I want to talk about a character. Sometimes I want to find the key to a puzzle I can't solve. Sometimes I just want to talk about related topics.
::shrug::
I'm also not moving to epic. I have 298 games on Steam. I bought them on Steam so that I could always have access to them. It's in my best interest to continue to support Steam as a company. They'd have to do something horrible to make me give them up because I'd be losing thousands of dollars if I did so.
I'd also like fewer game launchers, not more.
I respect developers wanting to do timed exclusives on epic because they get more money out of it. And I wish them the best. I just hope they release on steam eventually.
