Is the pipe gone?

I started playing the game again a couple of months ago, and I noticed Zulf's pipe was gone and some books were in its place instead.

I don't know if this is some kind of censoring, or maybe I am missing something... since it felt like censoring, it kinda took away from the game for me..

Was the pipe censored or ... what is going on that I missed?

let me guess, you have started a New Game+ or Score Attack mode?

it is not a censorship

Zulf's Pipe appears after completing Cinderbrick Fort level and stays here until the end of game

the History Books you see - is a gateway to the Stranger's Dreams level - an challenging optional level - that appears only in New Game+ and unlocks near the beginning of the game
