Cerebral Puzzle Showcase 2024 - Demo Release!

Hello all - The 2024 edition of Cerebral Puzzle Showcase[www.cerebralpuzzleshowcase.com] starts today and we're in it with a brand new demo!

This month has been massive for thinky/puzzle game releases, and I'm excited to join the crowd with this demo! If you've played the previous one from last year, this is still worth checking out as the overlap between the two is pretty small. I hope you enjoy!

Public Demo Release for Steam's Puzzle Fest!

The demo for He Who Watches is now live ! This demo is an early access sneak peek at what we're working on and includes the first 15 levels of the game. There are 12 main levels and 3 hidden bonus levels. Things are definitely subject to change, but this demo should provide a great introduction to the game and how it plays. We are so excited to finally get this in to your hands! Please feel free to leave any feedback or questions here and I'll do my best to get back to you!...

Cerebral Puzzle Showcase & Tiny Teams Festivals!

Hello puzzlers! We are super excited to be a part of both the Cerebral Puzzle Showcase and Tiny Teams festivals this week! There's a new demo ready that is hot off the press.

Please do check out the games in both of these festivals, as there are some amazing thinky games that are also likely made by some tiny teams.

Huge thanks to Yogscast & Astra Games (particularly Joseph Mansfield) for settings up these two events, and for letting He Who Watches be a part of them.

0.1.36 Brings some quality-of-life changes, and replaces a particularly frustrating level.

Added ability to hold the undo button for subsequent presses.
Added a new reset button to instantly reset to the beginning of the level.
Replaced the timer level with a more interesting level near the end of the demo.
Various minor bug fixes

Demo feedback and general impressions

The demo is short, but the gist is clear. It's a dedicated puzzle game, requires planning, spatial thinking and sometimes precision timing. Visuals are minimalistic yet neat, abstract dungeon aesthetics with a muted cel-shaded style and pleasing color palette. Puzzles have a nice bit of challenge to them, especially secret levels; according to the map, levels can be done somewhat out of order, in a grid-like fashion. I had fun with the demo, but finished it in 30minutes

I really like the gameplay, after getting used to the grid based movement. I like the fast face of the puzzles, but are worried about the amount of puzzles in the finished game, when one can solve them so quickly.

Some demo notes

Tried the demo for the puzzlefest as it looked like a neat concept, but a few things are in rough shape. -Not being able to invert the Y axis is already mentioned elsewhere (and I seconded it there), no need to dwell on it. -Playing on a controller and the camera freaks out a ton. I end up looking up instead of down due to the Y deal and the camera view gets caught on something and won't let me pan back down, I basically have to move a bit for it to get dislodged. I don't know if looking around is making...
