Should i buy?
Why would I buy this game? After what was done to Naval Action why should I trust these DEVs not to rip me off with this one??

Two different teams making two different games. This game is single player only and has no monetization. It has linear campaigns and no open world and a focus on fleet actions and landing parties. Got my money's worth. I've never played Naval Action so can't compare.
This game is kind of what I wish Naval Action was. 100% worth
I may be a dissenting opinion but I dislike this game quite a bit and ended up refunding it. Being rather unfamiliar with games like this I attempted the tutorial mission several times. The tutorial did a very poor job in teaching the basic mechanics in a way that was fun and engaging.
I am not a fanboy but I like this game and I have over 1000 hours playing it and I have many campaigns of game play on you tube and I am about to again put up more soon. I guess I can say I really enjoy it.

Add it to your wish list and when it goes on sale, steam will notify you and at that point you can decide to try it. There's a two hour refund policy too so try it for an hour of play on easy difficulty and don't click onto adaptation for that will scale up the enemy and make it harder for you to get a hang of it.

As for naval action I have no interest in it so I can't relate to it. I played all 3 of their games UGG, UGCW, UAAOS.
It's a fun game, with great graphics, and there are very few of this kind. A similar would be the combat scenatios in Empire: Total War. The main problem with the game is lack of variation. Once you complete the campaign, that's it. It would be great if devs added an open world campaign against AI players, but they seemingly abandoned the project.

The tutorial didn't help me a lot either. But the British campaign had a comfortable learning curve, and it taught me the ropes fairly quickly. I went from "meh" at first, leaving the game alone for a good week or so, to trying the campaign and loving this game more than I've loved a game in a really long time. It's a matter of preference, of course, but once I got over that initial obstacle of an underwhelming tutorial, it ticked all the right boxes for me.
