Manual saves?
I was wondering if TLIML has manual saving (aka "save anywhere") like classic PC games going back to the early 1980s, or does it use checkpoint saves or save points?

It saves on exit and during rest. Anything beyond that would involve making a copy of save file.

Also when you are killed you can quickly press alt+F4 and the game will close without saving the fact of your death (you will restart from your previous save point). Be warned that this may potentially damage your save file if done at the wrong moment.

Like mentioned above the game saves during exit and when you rest at a fireplace to make it more specific.

Zounds! Another game that seemed right up my alley but failed at UI 101.

I don't usually zap games in early access but I'm getting trigger happy with this "no free save" pandemic stupidity, considering how vast the competition is.

Enjoy alienating older, freedom-persnickety players with your drawbacks-only console tropes in a PC exclusive title.

you are right, Corbo. This is very annoying especially with a difficult game like this one. Ruined the game for me. We need manual saves!

Would manual saves make things a bit too easy though? You could 'never die' that way, whenever killed just reload and go back in time. I think they wanted to make it more challenging on purpose.

That's why you should have options. Have a hardcore or iron man mode where you can't save whenever and wherever you want, and have a normal mode where you can.

you can save game without resting at any campfire whenever you like. its like manual save. and if you want reload, quit without saving. quite easy to never die.

From what I've read, you can only save at a campfire, and now you're saying you can save whenever you like without a campfire? That doesn't make sense unless the dev has changed the way saves are handled.

This game is excellent, but what is the point of having a save game option when you can't load a saved game when you are killed? Annoying and ruins the game for me to the point I don't want to play?

I tried to save a copy of the save game (like in so many others including Ubisoft and other like the tomb raider games) IT SEEMS THIS IS A BIG BIG problem for the makers of this game. After a grind to build a game that would act as a farm to make guns, meds ET AL, I WAS BLOCKED FROM USING IE: mailing anything to myself (the only way I play "Single player solo) Me, the game, and my machine. I can still play the "farm" if I want but its already won. Yet BLOCKED from mailing HQ weapons to myself seems to be a problem for them/ I should note I did not buy the Founders addition because I do not play any multiplayer games and not because of the price. SOOO if you save a game and then plan on dropping it (replacing it) in their game save folder to replace it with an save at a previous point FORGET IT! It seems as if they consider you a risk to their chi. Maybe it is just the war that has made them paranoid. I mean what is the harm in mailing something from another one of your game to yourself? SOOOO Caution you could loose access to that game save. Guess we are just going to have to deal with it and send them love :_+) Doc

I also got a Limited Social Access penalty for this ridiculous rule. All I did was want to buy the not so readily available drug for Toxin Arrows from my other game. They took me away from a game that I love very much. They consider such things cheating. But if you look at the Trade section in the Social section, you can see the advertisements of the members selling 150,000 Toxin Arrows. Or 960700 Pelts

I was penalized for taking medicin from my own game, but they consider it normal that 150000 Toxin Arrows are sold with the drug that is hard to find in the game.

Hello!
I would like to clarify some things, said here before.
1) The system is adjusted to block the resistance with the replaced save files due to avoid earlier known glitches with items in the stash (in the Social section). Whether the player's intentions meant cheating or not - the system turns on the Social section limitation for the resistance, and save files were swapped of. That is why we warn everyone while entering Social for the 1st time and also everywhere on socials - Do Not Replace Files in the Save Files folder!
If you got banned - you can start another Resistance where you will have a Social section active.
2) Players using cheats are often getting or will get a permanent ban.
3) However, there are players that play strategically, using a few Resistances for grinding. So if you see 900k pelts on sale and the player is not banned - perhaps he/she's just good at business and/or has lots of hours played.

I played 866.7 hours. Do you think it's too short?
I am 67 years old. I took the game as a hobby to do something fun for the rest of my life. I have never cheated in my life. I didn't lie to anyone. Because I have confidence in myself. I closed the game because of a ridiculous system.
Don't think I'm crying like a child whose toy has been taken away just because I'm writing this. I am just against injustice.
Please be respectful and stop protecting the wrongdoers. Treat everyone equally

Why is there a conversation about cheating... in a single-player game's forum ?
Vayna Reka Jul 3, 2023 @ 9:22am
Read carefully. It's not about cheating. System's misapplication.
