Similar games
This game is so good!
It reminds me of SpiderWeb Software games.
Is there any other similar game?
I probably own them all,but maybe someone knows of more?

That Kingsvein is surprisingly high cost in comparison to other games.
It also looks completely different experience then SKLAD and similar games, focusing more on combat and less on other stuff. It looks more like an ARPG..I rather buy DIABLO 4 if im going that route.
As for emulators and other consoles I have no access to those,im solely focusing on STEAM games.

Kingsvein focuses as much on the tactical combat as on map exploration. It's not that wordy, but I do see where the comparison to the game comes from.

Seconding Knights of the Chalice and Caves of Lore.

If you like the combat but want more challenge: Helherron. Party-based combat (you create all the characters), exploration and good slow-drip loot progression. Unfortunately, its interface is quite janky which may be a barrier.

Natuk. Here's clip of the gameplay:

You can download it free from the developer's website along with a few of his other games (Nahlakh and Tower of Darkness are similar I believe, but I've never played them):

Whether you can get it to run is another question entirely.

And then there's Albion. Unfortunately not available on Steam, but you can get it on GOG:

The shadowrun games are similar in the sense they are more condensed turn based party rpg's (15-40 hours), which cut out a lot of fluff you find in many rpgs. They all have decent world building and generally succinct writing like Skald. Kept me engaged all the way through.

All three shadowrun games are on steam. Returns, Dragonfall and Hong Kong.

Some of the old goldbox D@D games would be like this game. They sell alot of them on steam. Be aware there more grid based than third person though.

NOTE: I think dark sun and the genies curse are both third person, and very much like this game.

Looks like someone else also mentioned the gold box games. That is probably the most closest games i think though.

I've never played the game, so I don't know if it's any good, but Nox Archaist is another one of these Ultima-inspired throwback RPGs. The Gold Box games have also made it to Steam, but you'd need to go to GOG for the old Ultima games, as others have pointed out.

If you're willing to go with a first-person blobber, you could try the Bard's Tale Trilogy, which has been remastered to have greater graphical fidelity. Or you could try the Realms of Arkania trilogy, which is also mostly a blobber, but it does have top-down turn-based combat.

Wasteland has also been remastered, though I've heard some criticism of that remaster. The original is still available, though.

Yea, good ones. I played them back in the day myself. I also mentioned the gold box sets too.

Realms of Antiquity stands out if you're trying really hard to reach that 80's CRPG spot for a good long scratch...

If you like the retro style, I'd recommend Faith: The Unholy Trinity. It's not an RPG but the graphics are something straight out of a Atari or C64

i highly recomend... some complains about too difficult, others about slow devs... i like the difficulty part and i think the devs are making something so good that is worth to wait each update
