The version of MMD that was adapted for VR is called MocuMocuDance, it was developed by Senoo Yudai and it's available for free on the developer's website: http://www.vrai.jp
MeiMeiDance was the first such program to straight-up steal the MocuMocuDance engine, community models and animations and copyrighted music, bundle them together, put a wrapper around it so it had a better interface and didn't look exactly like MocuMocuDance and then try to sell it on Steam. Since then, MMD Girls VR and there was a third one that I can't recall the name of did the same thing.
They're all comprised entirely of stolen assets, though, which was why I called this MeiMeiDance (stolen) rather than MMD or MocuMocuDance (not stolen). For more information:
