On top of all this there are roughly 12-40 people at any given time, 60 people on peak days such as the weekend but generally I believe it's fair to say the multiplayer is one step from dead. Multiplayer has been teetering on the brink of death for years with the dedicated server functionallity being it's only saving grace. There have been numerous reports of blatant hacking and exploits and no admins (or the admins are the ones doing the hacking); which has been a problem since day one but becoming more blatant over the years.
If you enjoy Survivor mode then the survivor mode dlc is from what I hear better level design however I do not recommend buying the dlc deathmatch modes.
Yeah, my exact feelings before the release for this game. Trailers were very promising. My expectations was very high, I thoght it would be good at least like AVP2 but then a huge disappointment.
Unlike you it wasn't lack of content or support for me. There wasn't impressive or scary atmosphere like in AvP 1 and 2. There wasn't good story or story telling ( I know there wasn't descent story in AvP 1 too but it was too much damn scary! By the way, I've played AVP 1 when its first released back in 1999.)
I have not much hope for future Avp games either.
But to be honest: I've actually played on those maps just a few times but not so often to really know them.
Would be interesting but I barely find games with players for those maps.
So I am fine with the regular ones. :)
To answer the question of the OPs post:
No, they're not worth it except you got a bunch of people who would like to play privately with you on those maps.
Same here... I've around 900 hrs since 2010 but like CSS I only play some matches occasionally.
