I always play with my PS3 controller. You can find drivers online. I think I use something called SCP server.

I find it strange that people still bother playing PC FPSs on a gamepad, i mean it's like playing an MMO with just a joystick.

You play with a keyboard and enjoy it? Good for you. There are 7 billion people in the world, and there's a slight chance that someone out there would have a different liking or interest than you, which is not always a bad thing.

Not just a keyboard. Like i said though, why would you intentionally handicap yourself? If there is a better way to do something why don't you try to atake advantage of that?
Personally, I started this game out with a controller and I feel handicap using a keyboard and a mouse. I can play AvP 2 with a keyboard and mouse just fine, but playing this game without a controller seems very odd to me. I feel more in control when playing with a controller. I bought the PC version before the PS3 version, but never seemed to enjoy PC as much as I did the PS3 one. Then I figured out a way to use the controller on PC too. It's more about personal preference. You have your reasons to play with a controller and I am not going to tell you why you're wrong. The facts are clear, keyboard = more accuracy, but again, personal preference.

True, but again, it's more accurate and you can react faster with a keyboard and mouse while it isn't as big of a deal in this game as it's quite casual, at least in the multiplayer scene in games like Planetside (1 not 2), Counter-Strike, the classic AvPs or Unreal Tournament, there are ways to get around that, the most obvious is putting an aimbot into the game, but in PC gaming that is considered cheating regaurdless how you play.

Does anyone want to actually answer the question or just argue? Because I'm having this problem also. Left trigger is menu, b is a, etc.

BetterDS3 is an application that allows USB and Bluetooth connections and custom keybinding and sensitivity adjustments. It's totally free and void of bloatware and malware

For anyone still looking I downloaded this thing called InputMapper, I almost prefer it to DS4, worked instantly with AVP.

Thinking about it, why would anyone want to play with a gamepad in AvP? both AvP and AvP2 can be too fast paced for that, maybe for AvP3 but even then you'll most likely get smashed by keyboard and mouse users.

I wish people would quit ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ about people playing with controllers and just answer the damn questions. Some people do not like the K&M combo. Why does that hurt your feelings so much?
Thorp Jan 1, 2016 @ 8:39am
BetterDS3, Inputmapper and DS4 have been reported to function properly in this thread.

As for anti-analog I suspect it's people's disappointment in users willing to give themselves a handicap in pc gaming. I'm not trying to be mean, just stating an old statistic as to why people despise analog. Some games benefit greatly with analog however statistically even proficient analog users do not fair well against average keyboard/mouse hence consoles rarely cross platforms (it's not impossible; the companies do not want to hinder the online multiplayer interaction as it would hurt online interaction on consoles). Aside from that detail the anger can also be attributed to elitism whether minor or severe; it is very easy to express a sense of elitism in anonymous text online.

I understand comfort in a control scheme is important but this is an online pc forum, most people here, even I, dislike analogs. I agree the master race agenda can smell rather strong online and it really is not warranted
