- Instal vcredist: \steamapps\common\Aliens vs Predator\redist\VC\vcredist_x86.exe

Or: Install the newest Visual C++ Redistributable files manually: (https://www.techpowerup.com/download/visual-c-redistributable-runtime-package-all-in-one/)

- Temporary disable read only in your Steam>common folder and your Documents>My Games folder (for one reason on most system this is set back afterwards to read only so I let the settings screen open while I follow the procedure)
Seems game storage some data in Documents folder

- Go to Settings and select Downloads
Select the "Clear Download Cache" button at the bottom
Select "OK" to confirm and acknowledge that you'll need to login to Steam again

- Launch Steam and Game (dx9 or dx11) with Admin permission

- If updating executable not crash fast - wait till its pass, can be 10 mins or more.

Whats problem with solution where we change exe files to custom one?

Game have in game statistic, with contains in steam cloud services or like that. Its work via AppData folder, as far i know. When game launch properly - its create folders in Documents folder. If you launch game with custom exe files bypassing Updating execubtable - game just launch, but since there no connection with statistics - it will crash any time you kill npc or player.

You may try uncheck "read only" permission from Documents folder, if its help you - will be cool, can be really used like solution.

How to play multiplayer: (We have some achievements here to take)

No servers available
Method 1 - Change server type in-game:
In the in game browser, set Server Type to Dedicated (Internet).

Method 2 - Choose server from the Steam client:
Open Steam, click on View > Servers.
Under Game, select Alien vs Predator.
Select the server to play in.

If you already install custom exe files - verified files will back original exe.

when ever i try to launch the game it just says updating executable and just cancels the launch, can you help me to fix this problem?

thats exacly my case, for the game prototype 2 i had to change the affinity of the steam exe thing but i dont know for this game

Might have to contact steam support for this one. Definitely does seem like a DRM issue with Steam. There's no other reason why all these games all of a sudden don't work for people. If you already had XYZ Game installed it should work fine....however new installs is the issue now. Definitely steam related. This game specfically hasnt had an update since 2010-2011.....
