Updating executables fix

Ok so I figured how to fix the problem going based on a post but im going to show how to get more into depth with it and a step by step way how to fix it.

1. open up the file explorer and go to windows ssd or what ever you have steam on
2. press program files (x86)
3.find the steam file then click on it
4.once you have clicked on it look for steam apps and click on it
5. after that look for the common file and click on it and it will show you the games you have then your gonna click on AvP or Aliens Vs predator
6. then your going to delete these 3 .exe files: Avp.exe, Avp_DX11.exe, AvpLauncher. exe (they might just show the names and the exe)
7.once you have deleted those your gonna download this file which is linked on the top and extract the files from it and copy and paste them into the file
(note that the file source i got them from were from a discussion on steam and they work and are linked to google drive so no need to worry about visiting bad website)
8.once done go back to the AvP steam page and go on the gear button and click properties and press installed file
9. this will pop up a option to verify intergrity and click it
( if it say updating or missing executables go back to the file delete it and re paste it into the file)
10. after that is done exit steam
11. start up your game and it should be working

UPDATE:Repaste the file and re verify them and pray to god also try restarting your computer

It worked the first few seconds and after a first kill, the game window closed up and just threw me back to Steam library and bricked my computer. I suppose we need to face facts and accept that it's dead now. Some lucky people are still able to play apparently, but they don't seem to know why, or simply won't share how they do it, I don't know.

Well what solution did you find? Is the whole game working for you? Campaign and multiplayer?

So I tried this, didn't work.

Tried it again without steps 8/9, the game would actually turn on!

But, unfortunately, once I complete the tutorial missions on any of the campaigns it crashes the game back to desktop.

yeah just let the game idle for 5 days and then play it, that worked for me

ok so sorry for the wait i havent checked in a while but you have to reput them in and it should work if not i will re send the files

Were you able to connect to multiplayer yet? My game CTD every time I try to do it.

multiplayer has been dead for years for as far as ik you need freinds to invite to make an actual playable game
