AVP crashes after first kill

in general, I had a problem that everyone who recently downloaded the game seemed to have. it did not run in any form, despite the fact that all the drivers were updated. this method helped me:

Same here, yesterday we played multiplayer no problem, today i cannot start multiplayer or play singleplayer, game just drops out of nowhere

The Steam version doesn't work. I've managed to fix it by getting a version of the game outside of Steam, the Steam version is simply for some reason broken.

Where'd you get non Steam version? Could you perhaps share a link, and to avoid Steam from censoring it, you could add some extra symbols and then tell which ones to remove so we can search manually.

its also not just the murders. even looking at the third yautja in the predator tutotrial crashes the game. same with flicking the switch at the start of the marine campaign
