AVP 2010 wont start

i just bought the game and i've been trying to turn it on but i could not fix the issue i've tried verifying the game files and it said that 2 of ones that are required and it was updating and nothing happend i disabled my anti virus nothing what do i do now?

system specs ? uninstall and install it again ?

make sure u have directx and game dist exes up to date

go to these folders just to rule stuff out
were x is you put your own drive letter ok
1.x:\steam\steamapps\common\Aliens vs Predator\redist\DirectX
then run the direct x
2.x:\steam\steamapps\common\Aliens vs Predator\redist\VC
then run the redist
maybe those got currupted during installation,yes it happens^^
3.x:\steam\steamapps\common\Aliens vs Predator
right click the avp icon launcher not the directx11 version see if that will launch the game if it does then u can choose directx version ect in settings main thing is to get it running first,

Hi! I don't know if you still have problems starting the game, I found the solution here: https://steamcommunity.com/app/10680/discussions/0/4692280570914367640/
My game crashes after i interact with a fuse box at the beggining, if this happens to you go to the game local folder and check properties - compatibility - and run the game in compatibility mode with windows 8, it seems it's the only one the game supports (i drop the solution here too: https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/alien-vs-predator-directx11-crashes-on-windows-10/7d682f47-d524-46b6-a710-dbb212ea0cd0 )
