Well, seriously, for alone Alien is almost impossible to counter Predator - normal balance is 2v1.
it's a game of cat and mouse. You got to play to the disadvantages of the predator to turn them into the mouse. Aliens can see through walls, preds can't. Exploiting their lack of vision will give the advantage of ambush and dictating where and when you strike. On the flip side however, depending on how the predator plays this strategy is going to slow down the game a looooootttt but if you're dying all the time it's better than watching the respawn screen.
Figure out if the Pred has a desired weapon every time they spawn. Position yourself so you have access to deny their favorite weapon.
Be aware that you can block light attacks, perform a lunge attack to knock them down, and cancel your heavy attack by pressing block. Light attacks and lunge attacks are block-able. Lunge attacks will only knock a non-blocking target down when beyond...15? meters away. Canceling a heavy attack can fake out the Predator who tries to counter with their light attack. Blocking their light attack counter will allow you to knock them down with a light attack after the successful block; follow up with 2 heavy attacks or 1 heavy and frontal grab and you win. (There is a small chance that they will have enough health to break free of the frontal grab if you knockdown > heavy > frontal grab. Thus I recommend just doing 2 heavy attacks if you are concerned or don't have time to survive through the grab animation duration. The grab is just to add some flair; if you die during the grab animation...it's 'uncool' imo and they will survive if you die before the animation does the killing blow unlike Rear grabs which are insta kills).
9-12m for the pounce knockdown, also your grab is fatal if the kill-icon shows. Animation doesn't matter since the animations can be "cancelled" to no ill effect of the grab. I've also seen grabs be successful just as the initiator dies and then the one being grabbed just flops over and dies as well after a moment of delay.
You offer him some money for new plasma canon , thats the only way.
