Trollhulde -knocking down the tree ?

Stuck -I cant get Trollhulde to knock down the tree, she just says Hej when I talk to her. I have replaced the frog with the wooden statue, so she is supposed to help me ?

I have the same problem. I tried everything: talking to Fossegrim over and over again, I even gave the two dipped thirsty stone to him and then go talk to Trollhulde...nothing happens. This is extremely frustrating.

Hey I just found the solution!!! You have to first talk to trollhilde before talking to trollhulde!!! (then instead of saying "hey little thing" she will say"welcome back" this time). Because if you haven't talked to trollhilde after finding about the missing staff, therer si no reason why you would bring it up to trollhulde. This makes perfect sense. I feel great now!

I'm having the same issue--but when I talk to Trollhilde, she just asks me if I have the tea yet. I can't seem to trigger her telling me about the staff. I have spoken with Fossegrim multiple times and have actually given him 2/3 stones. I've already liberated Trollhulde's kroke and delivered him to his mother. I've looked through / viewed several walkthroughs, and I really can't see what I'm missing that would trigger the right conversation with Trollhilde. Please help!

Since this thread has recently been active: same issue here, but the solution given above does not seem to work for me. I've talked to Trollhilde and Trollhulde both, multiple times, after talking to Fossegrim, and Trollhilde will always just ask about her tea, and Trollhuldle will always just say "hej little thing" or sth.

Figured it out!!! Turns out I was looking at the wrong thing while talking to Trollhilde. I was looking at her pot, so of course that triggered a remark about tea from her. Once I finally got the idea of walking around the fire to stand in front of Hilde herself, the proper conversation triggered.
