There are no collisions in the game. If two items collide. They just pass through each other.
That would be cool! Kinda morbid but...COOL!
I would have also loved to have played parts of management were potentially accidents could happen. I set up a route wrong so a train or boat crashes, weather conditions causing difficulties, lack of maintenance potentially endangering cargo etc.
Still, I guess this game is pretty expansive and ambitious already doing so much. I just wasn't sure how far it would go. Well hopefully one day we can get mods for all this stuff.
By the way, I looked into the mods, but I couldn't find any ocean liners, do any of you know specifically what mods have features like that?
Hi, Steve Emfore has some nice ship mods, especially in the late sail and sail/steam hybrid era. He also released a new 2-stack liner just last week.

And I see Grim Ranger has a small 2-stack steamer I didn't know existed:

I also recall seeing a 4-stack liner (Titanic-ish) in the Screenshots section very recently, like sometime in the past week or so. I don't know if it was a usable ship or just a static asset, or where it came from.
Closest alternatives I found are:

TpF 1 has the Lusitania available, plus a few other similar liners created by the same author, you can port it to TpF 2 for your own personal use, with a little bit of work:

Caveat: if you do so, needless to say that is for your own use, do not upload it to TpF 2's Workshop or anywhere else. You could try contacting the mod's author to see if he or she can make it available here.
If all you want is ocean liners then this game is not for you, (The water bodies on these maps can only be described as "lakes.") but if you are interested in transport and supply chain logistics then this game is the best choice by far.
Ah that's the one I saw! Found the screenshots, it was Break Feeling playing around with a new skybox mod:

I think I will still get this game anyway but it looks really cool and I am into other types of boats and trains as well. It seemed really appealing to start from 1850 and work your way into new eras. Seems like a really dense game hard to get information about but I'm going to pick it up and see what it has to offer.
Thanks for sharing the mods and screenshots that was really helpful
The screenshots are from TpF2, so the owner likely ported the ship mod from 1 into 2 like @Tsubame described above.
There is also the Early Start mod that lets you start in 1800.

If you want to see what they look like. I used them in this video. They first appear around the 23:40 mark.

I'm going to get this game soon and a bunch of mods to try out as it does seem still probably got more real content like that than any other game at the moment. I tried looking for games about ocean liners but really I couldn't find any except a couple that were reviewed very badly.
I'd absolutely love a sort of ocean liner tycoon style of game, and that's how I discovered TpF2 after searching for games you can plan out supply lines, and play pure logistics / engineering management. I'm sure this will definitely scratch that itch and theres always the chance that people will make more mods or that Transport Fever 3 can be even more amazing.
And yeah it would honestly be pretty cool to have vehicle crashes which you had to manage with insurance pay outs and building rescue services. You could lose ships, customers, or alternatively be a master of health and safety.
I totally agree. That's the reason I stopped playing Railway Empire 1 and never bought Railway Empire 2. I can't stand the train breakdowns.
