I'm on Asgard tho, idk if this server is populated or not.
But so far so good, never had problems to find people to do anything if needed !
(if my reply helps lol)
games is not dead but definitely expeditions are, don´t know exactly why, they drop some nice loot.
Ironically, in places like Eternal Pool or new areas, it's a ghost town. Sure, you occasionally bump into fellow adventurers, but that's more of a lucky break at prime time.
The game's matchmaking needs a revamp - a simple 'Enlist for the first lvl 60 dungeon' would save us the hassle of searching through all expeditions. Who cares if some can be run without a tank or heal? They can form on their own. We need a system where randoms can quickly form a group without all this click-fest madness!
If the game is already kinda dead, most often a discord channel is the evidence when you investigate how many "new" posts you see there in the "LFG" section.
Today as of right now I found 9 messages there. NINE!!!!!!
And none of them got a response. Its like absolute useless and dead. <- At least the LFG section. Maybe other one's are ok.
Of course if we even speak from the same "New World Official" discord.
And the most funny thing is that a huge % people cannot figure out this game is even without direction and a whole giant bug.

this game is just a waste of time, play something else.
OP, you do realize you are pointing to a well known personality online and you have been slightly lied to. (I will explain)
A large online personality is usually followed by an even larger subscriber base which actually might be active. Those fans usually get noticed of an event prior if the streamer / content creator needs an active game. This usually can be done with a call for members of the community to participate in an event a few days or hours prior to the steam.
An example of this is how FunHaus used call the community up for GTA to play with them though it was very much an alive game.
Yet, for older games or much less populated / dead ones, streamers will if possible muster their fans for something. It is one reason like games like prop hunt are completely dead, but if a famous CC pops up and calls to play it. Well the game is alive and kicking during those hours they are streaming etc.
The negative side of this is most watchers on YT/TW etc don’t realize this and might in essence end up buying a very dead online game to play with. This is not to say NW is completely dead but it is not where it was a year ago or even two years prior.
Asmongold is popular and pulls numbers with views don't think that his team didn't mention he was going to be playing this game to the community. Again, nothing against Asmongold but this is how usually streamers /CC’s do this in order to have an active game. Lastly, the larger the channel is the more likely this is what is happening, the smaller the channel are less likely to muster enough followers to get a server booming.
Either way OP , hope you are able to enjoy your game and get those mission's etc done.
PVP has its massive issues as well, and like the endgame PVE, its hilariously bad design decisions across the board.
Its a beautiful game world. Its fun just being in it. The combat makes sense in 1v1 situations where you block , in fact, its excellent. Medium difficulty mobs are enjoyable until two-three show up and you get ping ponged around and the camera has issues and you start missing attacks while your screen is entirely occupied by a mob so how can you miss.
Resourcing, crafting, exploring, fishing, maybe light pve and pvp....all excellent imo. You can easily get your $40 worth with just this. People do invasions, even if its boring AF for the first 6 rounds and it drags on and on and on.
People do outpost rushes. People craft and farm resources. thats about it unless its preplanned or you get lucky....not because its dead, but more because that other stuff sucks hard.
I'm on one of the most populated servers in New World. And if I can't move my life around to be able to log into New World between 5pm to 10pm -5GMT then I actually have to wait a minimal of 2 hours to put together a group to do Dungeons. My only other option is to pay illegal 3rd party RMT vendors to carry me through group content.
Ah capitalism at its finest, just as daddy Bezos would want.
