Not grounded in the reality of the game/studio's situation. Games that tend to replace completely the ones who made the game end up going in maintenance mode and eventually have a higher chance to get shut down as they're not cost effective and prone to risk aversion more than a new title would be.
An easy case in point was Defiance by Trion as just after its launch way back when they shut down the entire San Diego studio that built the game and brought at the time only 2 devs from that studio to the Red Wood studio to work on it. A year later it was down to 1 and in mostly maintenance mode. Later they made another Defiance 2050 game with a different set of devs later and launched it in July 2018 but it was really too late as sale to Gamigo happened 3 months later and the eventual shut down of both.
Now to really cook your noodle with yet another parallel, there's at least 1 dev that has worked on New World who was also a former San Diego Defiance dev........
