The Ranged Issue
Ranged damage is too high in PvP. I'm all for having a weapon do damage at range, but the range weapons not only deal excessively high damage at range but also close up. The fire staff for instance is arguably most deadly while in melee range. Trying to catch these range players is extremely toxic as they root and snare you in a 5 meter radius while absolutely melting you before you can even reach them. This really has more to do with fundamental flaws with the PvP balance of the game and how the ranged weapon are given an out-sized advantage.

Things that need to be addressed make the PvP better.
1) Range damage too high.
2) Range weapons give haste.
3) Range weapons give slow.
4) Ranged weapons give root.
5) Time between being hit and running is too low.
6) Remove speed food from OPR.

So you have 2 or more hit you because of discord, remove discord and see what happens.

see there is always moans about classes being OP and i just dont beleave in pvp balance , you dont to do a hard search to find moans about hatchet etc lol

Yesterday it was Hatchet and Healers now it's ranged. So tomorrow will it be hammer or melee? Watch some good Youtube players as there are tons of videos. Get some good gear learn to PVP and everything will be equally overpowered which makes everything balanced.

Use a spear with sweep and enfeebling skewer. Get good at that. Pair it with a hatchet or great sword. This is how I counter ranged.

Learn how to counter situations, and here's the thing, you won't be able to counter them all, Some situations you will do well at in PvP, and some you wont, that's just the way it is in any PvP encounter.
Deal with it, adapt, or just don't PvP.

My post has nothing to do with "get gud". Ranged is objectively too strong. If I can hit you for 2,000 at range and a melee weapon also hits you for 2,000 this is a problem.

This is what I use spear and hatchet. The toughest combo I came across was musket and fire staff. You roll back swap weapons and fire the musket. Then roll up swapping back to fire staff close range again. Was very hard to hit. Musket did huge damage. Burnout, flamethrower and heavy damage from gun.

Ranged dps is too much. It’s nearly impossible to catch a ranged dps as melee and therein lies the problem. No reliable gap closers, no reliable ways to limit their mobility. You spend all your time dancing and weaving desperately trying to close gaps only to be melted while you try.

You guys know they gave you a front bar and a back bar with the assumption that most people would run 1 ranged and 1 melee weapon right?

How many people run double ranged weapons? How many people run double melee weapons? Why do you think one makes sense and the other doesn't. Either play mixed, or play one or the other but dont cry that you cant catch ranged dummy, you're supposed to be standing on point or in a door.

The best builds in the game are double ranged weapons. My PvP build right now is Axe/VG. I am playing exactly what you suggest and range is still a problem. They have given ranged players, CC, root, haste, and slow all while doing massive amount of damage. For example, I have 150 con with optimized medium armor using a full set of opals. The literal first attack from a BB or FS takes me to 50%. It is insane. I am trying to gap close, snare, CC, it just doesn't matter as they have skills that given them escapes.

I just got done with an OPR and I was taking 2,000 damage light attack from a fire staff while I had my 20% fortify buff on. Why? Why the ♥♥♥♥ is damage so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ high when I'm lucky to hit some for 1-2k damage with a melee attack.
