Play now or wait for NW Aeternum?
I played at launch but haven't really played much since. I'm playing through the beta this weekend to unlock those free cosmetics.

But should I wait or play NW now?

here an advice from a roleplayer not from the lost nonefans that haunt und invaded this last forum outside discord.
you are from canada so your ping will lead you to some us servers very likely.

mandatory install the maingame and loggin any existing toon at least once in before release or it names can be chosen from somebody else and if that happens your first option will be rename instead play ,if you return to late even ,if you play something else until realease.

very likely if you havent playing during more than half of a year ,you already are merged transfered to Valhalla,Maramma or El Dorado or you get the option to chose one with the best ping for canada, if you are no longer tied to another server that had persished this year .

from your achievement none of your toons had reached level 40 and but you have joined not the marauders that have awesome endgame skins from the faction shop would be a pity to not get access to them much later.

roughly 3 weeks would be enough to create a new toon and raise it to level 20/25 above to get able to progress the free season pass half from the overextended incomplete season half as the skins are lorefriendly and get some free stuff with the only risk to waste some time its possible to skip most early quests and only doing faction quest to level your toon and weapons and get cheap gear from the faction shop and the exp from harvesting stuff in very low populated servers compared to launch or..

you level your elder up to level 60 to unlock all the outposts and settlements for more storage and to able to take part with events like winter or maybe halloween unless it might get cancelled this year for free stuff for transmog.

better to stockpile stuff,getting exp and getting tradeskill up will take grind time much easier now with very few competion ouside from chestrun routes as crossplay is optionable for consoles legacy server could dry out without cross-market unless ags wont stop with teasing instead of delivering new content.

the new cutscenes provide an better immersion even for none roleplayers unless corrupted from bad marketing decisions this year from the devs that were more bolder than smart unless they have hidden releaseready datamined updates that are compatible with the new slayerscript engine or maybe resources can be reallocated from cutscene vocalisation into new content finally again and hopefully a long overdue barbershop to keep up with char costumization as in almost every other game after 2 years and more after release.

the difference between angry earth start and next month should be that the newcomers and returners wont block the residents from playing their favorite with a queue from overmerged servers that shard thingie and default dedictaded servers would save the weekends the first months as most console players had not experienced issue with ags with multiple unforced errors that much as the bughardened veterans.

Wait.

If you don't have any good progression then wait and start new in one of the new fresh servers where only new players are allowed to play and veterans can not transfer their characters.

You're still going to play against veterans on fresh start & console, they plan to go there in fact to club new players. Even a solo player can go to fresh start and farm all the newbs for gold then transfer it to their main.

You're still going to play against veterans on fresh start & console, they plan to go there in fact to club new players. Even a solo player can go to fresh start and farm all the newbs for gold then transfer it to their main.

I don't think people playing on normal servers will have access to the new servers at the start. Maybe in a few months, but not at start.

I'm going to start on new servers, the regular servers are dead and most people will be waiting until new servers go up.

The veterans are going to join new servers and farm them for gold then transfer it to their main accounts

U complained about getting away from vets by joining new servers and I'm saying that's not going to happen because they are going to farm all the noobs

What are you talking about? I'm not complaining about anything, i am just stating that Veterans are not a problem at all on new servers. They are even going to have an internal ranking system in all pvp modes. And i didn't even mind without it..

U try to make fresh start seem appealing bc u think it getting away from "the old legacy characters" they are going to be there and they will farm noobs for months then transfer that gold to ther mains leaving behind a dead "fresh" world

Pvp is not optional, you need to do pvp if you want certain artifact gear

Defninately start with Aeternum release on a fresh server. It became a good game

Pvp is not optional, you need to do pvp if you want certain artifact gear

You just described optional. And even grinding pvp to get gear isnt a big deal, you get currency for both loss and victory, and you will get randomly placed beside veterans and other noobs. Its the same for everybody.

And that is only if you target specific gear that you need to grind pvp to get. But its not many of them. So you are kinda trying to make something that's not a big deal into something bad.
And again, they will have hidden rating in pvp so if you are a noob, you will mostly fight other noobs.
