Single player - Solo

Hi Guys,

Can this game be played as a Single player, solo and not connect to any servers like Elden Ring, Lord of the Fallen or shall I pass this game and look for other games.

In the about this game on the store page there is a section where it says fight alone. Just want some confirmation on this

No. You must always connect to a server. Also, the devs are progressively making the game less solo-friendly. Basically all of the end game is now solo incompatible.

No you have to connect to a server. If you don't like people everywhere, as i don't, you can join a server with barely anyone on it. You may see a few people running around or in towns though. The game itself can be 90% played solo these days, but there will be moments where you're pushed into doing coop stuff or going into the PVP area simply to do endgame crap. None of that was for me, but i felt i got my money's worth for the gameplay it offered.

If you want an Elden Ring or LotF game though, you'll be disappointed or probably bored, unless of course you rush headlong into higher level areas for the 'challenge'.

I've been playing solo since launch. I've enjoyed every bit of it. It's not like say 'Fable' was where you get the big end game fleeting thrill closure; however, as the game updates you're able to do previous content you couldn't solo before. Being connected with servers doesn't mean you have to engage with others to enjoy the game. Sure some of the more odious mmo-ers may see this and remark in their tedious ways about it being an MMO blah blah blah but I'm telling you, if you're of a similar ilk as me (which it sounds like you could be), you will probably do just fine in New World.

Gotta be on line. But don't worry, you will be dc'd on a regular basis. LOL I'd put my Christmas money on some other game. Try Valheim.
