NW is some weird grooming place for the faction of politics that lost the last election. They have no interest in you enjoying the game, just that you join some company staffed by glow in the dark Internet mind groomers and fall in love with one of their e-girls (double check their pronouns first btw).
I'll never forget before the first big war we ever had after launch, one of the people from my guild in a leadership position and a connection to Twitch.tv reminded everyone to go get vaccinated. Like, during the pre-war rally speech thing. The conspiracy runs deep, but I'm just saying, if you REALLY want to beat Gorgon, just pretend that you are susceptible to influence while recording your discord conversations to post later on YT once some journalist goes full Snowden on clandestine efforts to shape the minds of gamers using probably taxpayer dollars to fund this absolute buffoonery.
Combined that with all the gate keeping for gorgon, and it all starts to taste a little sour. :P
I'm actually a fair player who enjoys gaming and not looking for a conspiracy theory. I'm not part of a company in-game, I just watch out for people asking for others to join their gorgon raid and then I do it. Thats all.
I understand what the OP is saying that it is difficult and groups are troublesome and sometimes toxic to join but if you find the right group then great and people will have the patience to help you succeed. In the end we're all there to have fun and enjoy ourselves.
I'm not going to apologise for liking the game and sometimes feel like the minority who does enjoy it but I also know the games faults and get frustrated with them aswell. New World at its core is a great game and sadly the devs haven't continued the trend to make it an even better game. It has elements which have made it better but there is still alot of progress to be done and is said to be "In development". If you're not enjoying the game, then don't play it. There are other games out there.
Obviously M has been hurt bad by the game and wants others to feel the same confliction. In the end to Iansmiler, I understand the frustration because out of the three times I've completed it, there have been a gazillion times where I've not had a successful run or just had a toxic group or connection issues or whatever else. My original reply was blunt but there are good groups out there. I personally think the raid is fun but that is only my opinion others may disagree. Not trying to offend anyone. In the end its just a game. It just needs to be fun.
Remember ... back in a day : 1 Character per server, then people exploited and succeed to get a second character on same server and then they add one more slots of angry earth and now we can have 5 CHARACTERS on the same SERVER. It s insane.
Now add it = 100 buy/sell order per character
5 X 100 = 500 Slots to Trade Post ..
That s how you break an economy ! And dont forget about chinese and indonesian farmer and USA and EU players that also sell money online without getting caught !
See ? This is how MMORPG works in 2020-2025 years, awful,
Don't forget boxers. I have 3 accounts so 15 toons. LoL. You nailed it.
Gitgud
Guy with 4k+ hours telling new players to gitgud lmao...Gotta wait until they hit 4k hours before you can justify that...
OMG Hive is easy and I mean REALLY EASY!!!
Before I ramble on about gear etc let us talk briefly about Hive (Gorgon). That dungeon was intended as an END OF GAME CONTENT dungeon for the high-end players who were experienced and had completed almost all of the game.
But we have players possibly like yourself that have never been in any of the M1-M3 dungeons and managed to successfully obtain a set of 700gs with enchanted on it. Gear like that certainly does make a difference to your survivability and to your damage output providing you have balanced out your gear towards your game style.
I play light dps, spear(skewer)/hatchet/bow and all my attributes match those weapons. I try to do maximum damage with as little health as I feel comfortable with. not what others want. Currently running multiple 725g sets using all weekly drops and crafting artifacts to 725gs.
After taking about a week in Hive and playing around 8 hours a day ONLY IN HIVE ie 40 hours I soon understood the mechanics and with that fabled token after the 3rd boss and some lovely drops I started getting drops up to 725gs.
That token proved more valuable and allowed me easier access to other like-minded players that had also completed Hive and it then went on exponentially from there on.
If I cannot get a fully completed run within 2 days ie 16hrs of gameplay I begin to wonder what's happening. Hive has now been running for over 100 days so I will leave it to you with a decision on how many full games I could realistically have under my belt.
Many players correctly presume that skill plays a large part in Hive and they are correct if their skill matches the mechanics and that's where beginners with the incorrect gear are failing themselves whilst ultimately failing the whole team.
Find a group or a company that specialises in doing PVE runs and you will soon be playing Hive like a pro.
With another 2 players on my server, we deliberately do "Beginner Hive runs" with no gear checks but you can only join if using Discord and can at least hear us give instructions.
That is the beginners who are successfully getting beyond the 1st Boss, improving their gear and coming back to do a successful run against the 2nd Boss. We do not take them to level 3. thats entirely up to them.
I finally got that "Hive of Gorgons Token" that was so missing to me to try join pickup Raid ^^
So : continue trying, hope falling in a better DPS raid group and enjoy loots when you'll finish it.
One hour with the good group can change entire vision of that difficulty.
I'm french, don't know if i write well english but really: keep trying, it's REALLY worth it :-)
My ingame character name : Magnhum on Nysa server
TBH I got banned for being named Osama BiS Laden on PVP seasonal (7 day ban, first ever warning/suspension, 2 days left), so I figured I would throw some "its probably the anti-terrorist government agents who would be offended by that name" conjecture into my prose up there.
Sometimes I abuse my 1st amendment freedom of speech in a technique I've developed called information echo location. What you do is you throw out well-written, though ultimately baseless, conjecture into the Internet and you see what comes back.
In this case, we were looking for someone to strongly refute the claim that clandestine agents are forming gatekeeper guilds in modern MMOs using design systems placed by the developers (implied: cooperation) to lure gamers into communities where they could be psychologically manipulated.
Since my post was not deleted (though some of my other, non-rule breaking anti-AGS posts have) -- we can conclude from this experiment that either I was wrong, or the adversaries are too smart for my tricks, but probably that I was wrong. (generally speaking my adversaries are not that smart, they just have positions of power)
None the less, the perception that you need to participate in groups of strangers who want to share their ideologies (human trait, not necessarily nefarious) is actually pretty core to completing content (especially participating in war, if not end-game PVE) for New World, and thats generally what I was hinting around.
Thanks for reading my ted talks though, I am certainly not using the Internet the way people would prefer me to, but I have rights that protect my usage as well as anyone else's! This is the printing press! My right to publish cannot be stopped! None the less, there is a history of NSA involvement in World of Warcraft and use of online games as surveillance mediums (I personally think its a way for feds to charge their grind sessions to taxpayers) so that's generally where the "conspiracy" is rooted. You can go google "NSA world of warcraft" and read about it on Wired if you're curious.
In closing, I would not say that the game hurt me but more that I am an active information gatherer and i find many things in modern gaming to be suspicious and a lot of elbow brushing with criminal activity, money laundering, and spy nonsense. Until someone kills me, I will probably keep posting about it, occasionally looking crazy but none the less chipping away at the truth one echo location at a time.
Are you that salty that it turned out you voted against your own interests, and in fact eggs are getting more expensive and your president wants to start multiple wars with allies? So much for the president of peace, huh?
I'd be angry too if my vote went towards abolishing healthcare, education and social services. I'd be pissed if there were no more hospitals and firefighters etc!
But hey, if you voted democrat, you might have gotten an education.
So... Lets take it out on a game that has zero to do with anything politics!
