There are no official addons(mods ... so every manipulation of the game is theoretical banable.

They've had a pretty strict 3rd party apps policy in effect since close to the start of the game years ago that even saw people getting in trouble for using translation programs if their language wasnt part of the localization.

To that end, if you're in doubt, contact AGS support concerning, however as others have said, best way to avoid the gamble is simply not to roll the dice.

A couple years ago they did say they have no issues with it, if it does not give anything other than what is in the game.
What most people do is use the addon but then use an external monitor to see the map, That way the only thing its pulling in the API which is 100% legit.

However, they usually dont perma ban on first offense all they will do is tell you to remove it and perhaps give you a 24 hour or 3 day ban at most.
