Is there any advantage in playing music hard difficulty?

Does it sound any different? How can you tell if someone is playing a difficult version or easier? Will the tone change and does the rewards?

I think you just get more xp. but could be wrong.

You can tell by the colour of the song when you watch them, I can't recall all the colours, but red is expert

Yup, pretty much just more xp for the performer. And working toward the achievements/titles you get for getting a 4 star score on 25 tunes at each of the levels. (I think it is Maestro title at Novice, Bard at Skilled and Prodigy at Expert. I am almost to Prodigy! Need to get 3 more tunes!!)
