How do I sell things like common items?

How do I sell things like common items? Do they get sold to a merchant, or do I have to list them for sale? What if nobody buys those things, should I just be salvaging things?

You can salvage them, which will give you gold and salvage parts to repair items, and a change to get some special resources, or you can sell them in the market for another player to buy, have in mind that selling in the market means spending money on selling and tax, isn't free to list your item.
