you're a minecraft player aren't you? xDDD
Someone just mentioned they have seen dual daggers as a possibility, but I have never seen that one mentioned before now, of course I could have missed it.
Speaking for myself however I am hoping that dual daggers are NOT included as a combat option. The reason being is that it's a bit too high fantasy and a little too silly. I understand why people like that 'style' as in many games they are lighting fast and stack up combos and status effects (such as bleeds) like crazy, oftentimes outperforming most other types of weapons in sheer damage. It's the bread and butter of the sword and sorcery rogue and action game DPS-monster..... but it's not realistic, someone going up against any kind of a real weapon with a dagger in each hand should be shredded assuming equal skill in most cases, and the damage against any kind of armor or serious hide should be minimal. Doing the fantasy dual dagger thing tends to make other weapons irrelevant which is why you see so many people dual wielding daggers in games where such is allowed, and I'd prefer to see this game not go down that path.
I suppose if they were to make the daggers a high skill cap weapon and base it on parries and counters rather than dishing out a million cuts in rapid succession it might be possible and avoid a lot of these problems. According to "Thee Duelist" the Rapier already fills this niche though, and since we have that, we really don't need the daggers.... and let's face it, for the time period being looked at, running around with a rapier is a bit more realistic than using a dagger as a primary weapon rather than a backup/weapon of last resort.
Rapier is a reflex/counter weapon when the enemy gets close, or depending on the situation a chase weapon after getting the person low in health, straight up 1v1 while wearing light/med rapier would get you destroyed against a heavy charger. You have to get the enemy lower health while they try to reach you with ranged weapon before engaging with it. One hit kill is an exaggeration because you can probably get hit 3 to 4 times by auto before dying, but not that different imo. I have probably seen one heavy rapier who tried to do close-combat and the guy was just a nuisance with nothing to offer, just a useless shrimp in a whale fight.
Now imagine as a light/med "dual dagger" jumping into that mayhem, I assume random AoEs would pop those players. But I do like the stealth mechanic you bring up, it could be a nice role to get them behind the front line to target the back line perhaps.
