Mainly about a console release....
If you're attempting to compare the game to when it launched to now, then no. There have been various changes over 3 years including zone changes, paid dlc increasing the level cap, and more. You can check the update/patch notes for more detailed info regarding that.
Aeternum was primarily a renaming of the game for marketing purposes for its console launch.
All you need to do concerning that is see pages and pages on these forums for criticisms, youtube videos of criticisms over the years and more. Asking this when you've multiple threads offering criticisms of the game even on this first forum page before you posted this is rather silly, or just shenanigans perhaps.
The only reason you perceive the game to be as you do concerning interest in it is that the early game was designed intentionally to be a decent hook, or honeymoon phase. If you read some of the criticisms of the game though later that honeymoon phase fades rather quickly. This is why the game has been in a rather consistent decline for 3 years now, among other reasons.
Otherwise, caveat emptor.
All in all, there are plenty of games out there that one may find a better value with, even if you already have over 1500 games on steam. Its really a buyers market.
Game is fun - there are many haters around. Maybe paid by other companies? Don't know.
Differnence is: New main story, full voice acting, new DLC with riding, new levels, new region ... so a very fun mmo. Just try it.
Same game, small changes.
My PvP server is empty. We can not find enough players to do the egg event. Its fairly empty on the stranded servers economy wise but we can field an egg. The most action is on the Legacy servers. Eggs all night economy and is functional more or less taking in to account the whales.
PvP Lupus server is not empty. You can't finsih the egg event mostly not because too less players. But you have three faction who kill each other at the event ... so many just forget the event.
On a pve server the event is playing 24/7. Cause there all three faction cooperate and make the egg event together. Instead of the toxic pvp server, they have realized: Working together instead of fighting each other is a WIN WIN situation.
