Will open beta character carry over to release? Will PC be able to crossplay with console?

Few questions.. I'm itching to jump back into NW but it seems its better to just wait for the new update and start fresh.

The open beta happening Sep 15, will our progress carry over to release?

When console version launches will we share servers or will console only play with console?

Progress will not carry over.

However you get in-game rewards (cosmetics) that will carry over in the actual release of the game on October 15th. These rewards will be locked to whatever version you play the open beta on though. For example if you play open beta on PC and earn all of the in-game rewards for the release of the game, you will only see those rewards if you play the full release version on PC.

If you want to hear my opinion, if you already played NW and have a max level character right now, I would just jump in now and start farming because come the big update on October 15th all the servers will be flooded with new players and returning players buying materials in the trade post.

I think you are probably over estimating expectations on release there.

Agreed - "flooded" is very much not likely. A few more players, sure. But the market is saturated with so many good games to play, that Concord shut down in two weeks after taking eight years to make. New World is not going to get a large portion of the player base at this point.

i sort of agree with the flooded aspect, for myself though i have pre-ordered the deluxe on xbox but currently undecided where to land on PC to which i already own all content plus quite a few perks from pre-order and pc launch and quite a bit of the Twitch items. why am i undecided. few reasons is you need a core sub minimum for xbox to play it. second is i am not sure i rather play on PC. i have a newer PC 4070Ti Nvidia etc. but i cant freaking decide lol

several times before flooded servers also meant queus up to hours if that shard system wont work globally any or too much console player outside dedictaded servers could provide less
help than needed.
