If I buy the expansion do I get the upgrade to Aeternum?

I find the marketing kind of confusing. I have the New World base game, without the expansion. If I buy the expansion now does it convert it to New World: Aeternum?

the store page says if you own the base game you get some of the content, you get the rest from buying angry earth

I believe (for old players) you need dlc if you want the content the DLC provides. There is no "upgrade to New World Aeternum". The game is now New World Aeternum for new and old owners.

I have the New World base game and the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.
If you currently have the New World base game and the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion, you will have access to all content in the New World: Aeternum update for free.

I only have the New World base game and not the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.
If you currently only have the New World base game, you will have access to only some of the updates and content that launch with New World: Aeternum. To get access to all of the content like the new Raid, you will need to purchase the Rise of the Angry Earth expansion.
